‘For 12 sins and more’ GOD calls for judgement
on His Church in Nigeria;
12 GRIEVOUS APOSTATE SINS of the CHURCH in NIGERIA

INTRODUCTION

This paper was originally prepared under a burden of The LORD for the nation of Nigeria in 2019. There followed an instruction to meet with and share its contents with prophetic and church elders and apostolic councils in 5 cities across the nation; these were Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos & Ibadan. Upon the declaration of the word, repentance was made followed by the prophetic act of jointly unsheathing a sword.

What is a grievous, apostate sin? A departure from true biblical practise & principle for which if the apostles Paul, James and Peter were with among us today they would exclaim and say ....

“WHAT??!! I hear there is sin among you, which is not even among the unbelievers … “ (1Corinth 5:1)

“I therefore judge …” (Acts 15:9)

“For so much? … how have you agreed to tempt The SPIRIT of GOD? ... the feet of the young men will carry you out..” (Acts 5:8,9)

And for which GOD would accuse the leaders of the church in the nation, “I warned him that I would judge his house and he did nothing!” (1Sam3:13)

1.     SEXUAL IMMORALITY
Serial & habitual committing of adultery and fornication. Arising out of unrestrained sexual lust and a lack of the fear of GOD.

2.     FETISH PRACTICES
Proliferation of fetishes and talismans under the guise of ‘prophetic breakthrough acts’. Especially when carried out in such a way as to usurp the place of the teaching of The Bible.
By their very nature true prophetic symbols and actions are done once NOT repeatedly e.g. JESUS using mud to heal, the troubling of the water, the king striking the ground with an arrow etc. This is so that the faith of every genuine believer for everyday life remains in the Word of GOD and prayer, not in oil, water, soap, candles, combs, cloths and so forth.

3.     SHALLOW DOCTRINE
The imbalance of doctrine based on and overly consumed with personal development and breakthrough rather than the godly laying of tested biblical principle. A failure to teach CHRISTLIKENESS as the supreme and GOD ordained goal of every believer.
The supposition that by a particular prophetic act or fast etc… “all problems will disappear” and “all needs will be met”..

4.     DEMONIC ALTARS
The tapping of occult powers by church leaders through active consultation with witches and wizards and evil demonic sacrifice. A hideous mindset that church leaders can tap power from evil sources and use it for kingdom growth!

5.     CULTS
Religious cults within Christendom e.g. Bishops cult where Christian leaders perform extra biblical rituals, make secretive agreements and adorn Babylonish garments. The practice of rituals and adorning with gowns and hats that the Charismatic and Pentecostal movements once wholeheartedly rejected and broke free from.
NB. No dishonour to and all respect for our brethren in historic denominations for whom this is their tradition, done not out of a desire to be seen.

6.     IDOLATRY
Idolatry, self-centredness, kingdom building and personality worship. Manifesting in the excessive use of the photographic images of leaders in billboards etc, followers wearing these images in necklaces etc like those of gurus of eastern religions, the disproportionate linking of the ministry name, vision and mission to an individual leader. All these lead to the sin of idolatry.

7.     CORRUPTION OF PROPHETIC OFFICE
The permitting by the church and celebration of prophets ministering by the spirit of divination and occultic sources! The corruption of true prophetic office by those operating under the influence of jezebel, control, manipulation and mammon.

8.     COVETOUSNESS
Greed, covetousness and materialism among leaders supposing “gain is godliness”; equating excessive material acquisition with spirituality. The flaunting of wealth in an atmosphere of economic deprivation, poverty and suffering. A gross neglect of the command by the pillars of the faith to “remember the poor”! the colluding with corrupt politicians by receiving of bribes for silence by church leaders!

9.     DERELICTION OF DUTIES
Abandoning our duties to adopt and support

a.     missionaries

b.     those persecuted in the north

10. DISORDER AND DISOBEDIENCE IN MINISTRY CALLINGS.

a.     A clamouring for titles, prestige and symbols of “success”e.g building edifices, universities etc. Did GOD call you to do that? lack of discernment of the divine ‘metron’ (Greek: Measure of rule; 2Corinth 10:13; Romans 12:3) A lack of deadness to self. The self-appointed assuming of ministry titles and an ensuing confusion of who is doing what and where. All ensuing in a disorderly proliferation of churches, fellowships and ministries with everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. The spirit of competition, rivalry, jealously in Christian ministry.

b.     A failure for the church to receive and accommodate servant hearted governmental apostles and prophets into the rank and file of church and city councils.

c.     The failure of national leaders to balance their role as pastoral heads of denominations with the dire need for them to step into the role and calling of kingdom centred apostles. Father-of-the- faith apostles who are able to corral the Nigerian church to a place of order and unity. The failure of father of the faith apostles to walk with regional and national prophets (and vice versa) to establish biblical and kingdom order in the nation.

11.  FAILURE TO ACCOMMODATE THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM DUE TO FOCUS ON GOSPEL OF THE CHURCH

a.     Empire building at the expense of social and political concern. The short-sighted sacrifice and dereliction of duty in stepping into kingdom roles in the 7 mountains of influence on the altar of “self” and empire building.

b.     The disobedience of those called to forego church roles and titles that they may enter their true calling to walk as societal apostles (Joseph’s, Daniel’s, Esther’s and Nehemiah’s) for the task of nation building.

12.  OLD WINE SKINS
Outdated and outmoded doctrinal emphasis. Same songs. Same prayers, same doctrines repeated decade after decade - as opposed to cardinal ones which are unchangeable! Leading to irrelevance in present day challenges and battles; coupled with a lack of accountability. A failure to teach and update the church with present day truth, doctrine and discipleship models after 40 years. The failure of prophets and apostles to train, teach and “equip the saints” for the work of the ministry.

For all this and more we call for City Wide and Regional companies of apostles and elders (Acts 15:2,4,6,22), apostolic councils comprising Apostolic Gate Keepers and Prophetic Intercessory Companies to RISE UP & ask GOD to unsheathe His Sword over His sleeping church.

“Judge those in the church . . (GOD will judge outsiders) . .” (1Corinth 5:12,13) for

“Judgement will begin (has begun) in the house of GOD” (1Peter 4:17).

That the fear of GOD be restored in the land for

“ ‘The LORD will judge His people’ . . . It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of GOD!” (Hebrews 10:30,31)

We call on apostolic companies to arise throughout the length and breadth of the nation to arise, meet together, receive the prophetic word from The LORD and agree with heaven for “the earth has He given to the sons of men” (Ps 115:16) .. and “surely The LORD will do nothing without first revealing His secrets to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7)

Now behold, “A lion has roared, who will not fear, the LORD GOD has spoken who can not but prophesy?” (Amos 3:8)

Submitted in the love of CHRIST,
the reverential fear of GOD
and the fellowship of The SPIRIT,
